Genre

As a genre of my film opening I chose is drama and the sub genre is melodrama. I will use my friend’s life story experience and some films as a references of my ideas. I chose this genre because, as an emotional person, I like to observe the emotions and feelings of the characters. It is interesting to analyze their behavior and temperament by their gestures and facial expressions, so I think drama is considered not a childish and not the easiest genre, which is suitable mainly for emotionally developed and deep people.

References

One of the most important points of my film opening I would like to use is the idea of reading poetry in a public place, thus expressing yourself and spilling out your emotions. I took this idea from my friend, he told me how in France he got up in the middle of the street and read his poems out loud because of boredom, I enjoyed this idea and decided to add it to my plot. This feature adds more emotional depth and emotionality to the film, which clearly helps to recognize the genre of the film and not confuse it with others, and also understand the concept.

I will also use some ideas from the film “blue is the warmest colour” with a genre melodrama. As I mentioned before, I would like to use and idea of expressing emotions through various participation in public events, rallies or any activity in a public place. In this film very often scenes with various protests and rallies appears, where the main character participates, so she could throw out her energy and frees her thoughts. This scene clearly shows the character emotions:

Since the introduction of the characters to each other is one of the key moments of my film opening (the first meeting of the characters whose relationships will develop throughout the film) I took the idea from the same movie. This scene visually shows the characters’ interest in each other and the first spark that breaks out between them:

Logo & Title Sequence

As a reference of a title sequence I used a beginning of the film “21”. I enjoyed the idea of showing the establishing shots on the background while introducing the film information, it is a good way of showing location and it also creates a psychologically comfortable atmosphere, if shots are contrasting with the music and genre, and it is easier and more suitable to introduce the main characters visually, if he is presenting in those establishing shots somehow.

To create my logo I simply used my original first and last name. I created my logo picture in website called Turbologo, and then I put it into Inshot and created video format of my logo using different effects of appearance of logo from darkness and later I will also add a piece of music from the film opening onto the background.
